Nigeria Security and Safety Perception Survey Report

Drawing on responses from 5,455 participants across Nigeria’s 109 senatorial districts, this report offers a comprehensive assessment of citizens’ perceptions of safety and security. It highlights personal and community safety experiences of Nigerians, the security threats faced, their level of trust in security institutions, as well as how insecurity shapes their daily lives and future outlook.
By placing citizens’ voices at the heart of the security conversation, the report provides timely, evidence-based insights for policymakers, security agencies, researchers, civil society organisations, and development partners. It is also intended to stimulate informed dialogue, support data-driven policymaking, and contribute to building a safer, more secure Nigeria for all.
