Power and Energy
No economy grows in the dark, and no household thrives without light. We track how the power sector performs and put the evidence before the people who set policy.

Unreliable electricity is where institutional failure costs Nigerians most directly. In 2025, distribution companies lost an average of 37% of the value of the electricity they received to technical, commercial, and collection losses, and billing and collection gaps cost the sector ₦1.36 trillion. Firms pay for their own generators, and households go without. A power sector that works would lower the cost of doing business across the economy and bring light to homes, clinics, and schools.
The Foundation builds on the public evidence the Nextier ecosystem already produces through the Nigeria Electricity Hub’s Power Library and the Nextier Power Dialogue.
